132,000 Pounds of Beef Recalled for E. Coli Contamination

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) recently recalled 132,000 pounds of Cargill Meat Solutions ground beef because of likely E. coli contamination.

In July, one individual died from an E. coli outbreak, and 17 others became ill. This is what prompted FSIS and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to recall the ground beef.

FSIS is concerned that the ground beef is in several consumers’ freezers around the country. It encourages consumers to throw away any ground beef that is included in the recall.

Symptoms of E. coli contamination include diarrhea and vomiting. In severe cases, E. coli can lead to kidney failure.

A list of the recalled beef can be found here. If you or a loved one consumed E. coli contaminated food, contact GoldenbergLaw for a free case evaluation. We have over 30 years of experience handling food contamination suits and have successfully recovered for our clients.
