Goldenberg, has been appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee (PSC) for the Benicar Multi-District Litigation (MDL) in the US District Court of New Jersey. In this position, Stuart will help craft all litigation strategy decisions in the consolidated action against the makers of Benicar, Daiichi Sankyo, Inc.
The Benicar litigation was consolidated into a Multi-District Litigation (MDL) in the US District Court of New Jersey to facilitate case filings against Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. Upon last month’s approval of the direct filing order, all Benicar plaintiffs filing in Federal Court are able to file their case in the US District Court of New Jersey, even if they are not a resident of New Jersey. The PSC manages litigation strategy and represents the common benefits of all MDL plaintiffs. Stuart has also been appointed to the discovery committee for the Benicar PSC.
Benicar is one of several medications designed to treat high blood pressure by dilating a patient’s blood vessels. While Benicar is effective at lowering high blood pressure, its side effects include horrible gastrointestinal injuries that can lead to death.
