Buzzed Driving Is Dangerous Driving
At GoldenbergLaw, our Minnesota car accident lawyers have seen the devastating consequences of drunk driving. Every year, thousands of Americans are killed by collisions caused by drunk drivers.
However, a recent study by a University of California, San Diego researcher found that there is no “safe” level of alcohol in a driver’s system, Fox News reported. The researcher, Dr. David Phillips, looked at crashes in which blood alcohol content was reported. He found, among other things, that drivers with a BAC of just .01 were 45 percent more likely than sober drivers to be found solely responsible for an accident.
The legal limit for alcohol in a driver’s bloodstream in Minnesota is .08. However, Dr. Phillips’ study, which builds on previous research with similar findings, shows that any amount of alcohol can prove dangerous to a driver.
Our car accident lawyers urge you to find a sober ride before you decide to drink to avoid the temptation or the need to drive yourself or rely on a friend who has been drinking.
If you have been hurt in a car accident where alcohol might have been a cause, our lawyers will investigate, determine liability and craft a compelling case on your behalf.
